Ingrid Brown, Photographer
Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve loved snapping pictures. I took my first official photography courses in high school, and the love story really began. I had a passion for learning about photography techniques and exploring the craft. Then, well, life happened! I still took many pictures, but the craft took a back seat. During the last few years, I started to follow other photographers on social media, and realized that I wanted to be out there capturing some of these amazing images for myself! My passion was reignited, and now I am devoting as much time as I can to the craft I love!
Adventure - One Life Live It
This tree was really what sparked the fresh flame. On Instagram, images of the "Dome Comb tree" appeared again and again - I HAD to go and see it for myself! It took me two years to get there, but finally my husband and I drove to the Great Smoky Mountains and found the tree. It was 4:00 in the morning when we left, and only 25 degrees, but I didn't care - it was such a magical morning for me, and I was beyond excited to capture images like this for myself. Sadly, this tree was destroyed during Hurricane Helene. Knowing that I was able to see it, and capture it, makes it even more special to me. This was also the reality check I needed to get in gear. There is no better time than now to take those trips and chase that elusive, perfect shot.
My favorite subjects are solitary trees and landscapes, especially the layers of mountains along the Blue Ridge Parkway. I have also developed a love of wildlife and birds, so I'm working on capturing these types of images as well.
There is so much beauty and magic all around us, and I want to capture it all! I hope you enjoy these images as much as I have enjoyed taking them!
